Adventures in Churchill, MB, Canada (polar bears, belugas, Northern Lights) -- Aug 2026

Enjoy this 27-minute video of our adventure in August 2026 to Churchill, MB, Canada (the polar bear capital of the world) to look for polar bears, beluga whales and see the Northern Lights. We were so happy to see all three. Instead of booking through an outfitter, we booked our own transportation to/from Churchill, hotel, excursions and rental vehicles. We booked the following (and you can also do this on your own too!): ** we took a flight to Winnipeg, Canada (stayed overnight at the Victoria Inn, near the airport) ** the next morning, we took a Calm Air flight (one way) to Churchill ** our hotel for the 9 nights was the Churchill Hotel ** we booked through Sea North Tours a Zodiak beluga whale watching tour ** we booked through Nanuk Operations two days of their Coastline and Wildlife tour ** we booked through Frontiers North two days of their Tundra Buggy Summer Day tour (the Buggies go to areas that other tours and rental vehicles are not allowed to go) ** we rented a 4-wheel drive pickup truck (two days) and a 4-wheel drive SUV (one day) after our wildlife tour so we were comfortable knowing where to go and not go in Churchill and the surrounding area. ** we took the ViaRail train all the way from Churchill back to Winnipeg (it took 47 hours). Others who started with us took the train only to Thompson and drove the rest of the way to Winnipeg.

This school, near Siem Reap, was originally funded in 2006 by Danny & Pam Spitler from Arizona, USA. Among other subjects, this kindergarten-thru-6 school, teaches students in English and computers.
