This 7-minute video documents -- the pulling of handcarts up hills, men being called to war, the "womens' pull" while the men are away, and arrival at camp -- for the 2012 Youth Conference of the Gastonia & Hickory Stakes (in North Carolina) of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Over 200 youth participated in this three-day pioneer trek experience -- the pulling & pushing of handcarts over a 15-mile trail -- as a mini-reenactment of the experiences of the Mormon pioneers who crossed the plains.
